- What reference and style guides do you use?
I use a variety of reference materials, both hard copy and online. My dictionaries of choice are Webster's New World College Dictionary (the official dictionary of the Associated Press) and merriam-webster.com. For style matters, I most often use the Associated Press Stylebook and the Chicago Manual of Style. However, if your document requires a different style, I will accommodate.
- What is a customized style guide?
For all level 2 copyediting jobs, I will create a customized style guide. It will include points of style that are particular to the document and highlight areas of grammar, style, and usage that needed to be repeatedly corrected. Clients can use the style guide in future writings for consistency and quicker (therefore, cheaper) editing.
- Do you offer same-day service or 24-hour turnaround?
Yes, depending upon the document and my current workload. There may be an extra fee.
